Bare Minerals skincare.

I`ve used the Bare Minerals Mineral Foundation on an off for a few years, but I`ve never tried their skincare until now. I needed (read: wanted) a new cleanser and a new nighttime treatment, so I decided to give these two babies a go!

The pictures are not the best quality, but hey ho.

The cleanser is a “purifying facial cleanser, with RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex” it says on the bottle…  I really like it for both removing makeup and cleansing my face. I use two pumps for round one, and it really does a great job at removing my makeup, including eye makeup. (I haven`t tried to remove waterproof mascara yet, but I`ll let you know how that goes when I`ve tried it.) I then use one pump to really cleanse my skin afterwards. The amount that comes out with each pump is really small, so I think this will last me a long time! Yey! I use this morning and night, and it feels really gentle and not at all harsh on my skin. Like!

I got mine of feelunique.com, and you can find more about this cleanser here.

The next Bare Minerals skincare product I got from feelunique was their Pure transformation night treatment. You can find it here. I got mine in the shade “clear“.

I really like the natural feel of the Bare Minerals mineral foundation, so when I found this mineral powder nighttime treatment, I wanted to try it. There is something weird about putting on a powder at  night, but you kinda get used to it. Almost. It`s a powder that you`re supposed to put on with the integrated brush that is in the lid. The brush is actually quite soft for being a Bare Minerals brush, and it applies the powder fine. The thing I don`t like about this product is the fact that there is no way of controlling the amount of product that comes onto the brush. I once put it in my bag to bring to my parents house, as I was spending the night, and the shaking had made waaay to much powder come on to the brush. (Difficult to explain, hope you get what I mean.)

There is no way to get it back down, so you end up using too much, and this is not a cheap product, so wasting feels so wrong. I wish this came with a lockable compartment, like the foundations do. That would fix the problem =)

As for the difference it has made to my skin, I can`t say that I really see much of a difference. It promises to tighten pores, give a radiant,  improved skin tone and better skin texture. I will definitely use it up, and hopefully see more results as time goes. I really wish it smelled better though, as I really like the luxurious feeling of putting on a cream or mask that smells great. But I guess this one is kinda like some medicine. It smells bad, but does good things…?

So, I picked up a few new things =) Part 2.

Here are a few more things I got on my trip abroad =)

First and most amazingly it`s the Bourjois Magic Nail polish remover. This is an AMAZING product! I had heard so many wonderful things about this one, but I don`t think we have it in Norway. At least I haven`t seen it anywhere… So I had to pick up a couple when I found it in Palma. And I put it to the test with a red nail polish. I usually look like I have been eating strawberries after removing red polish, with pink fingertips. I had a lot of faith in this pink pot, but I was really surprised when my fingers came out looking perfect after just a couple of seconds in this thing! Wow! I soooo recommend this! It will save me…well…minutes and minutes! =)

Next up is my La Roche-Posay Toleriane Soothing protecting skincare. I got this to use it after long days in the sun. I have quite a few moisturizers, but none of them are just soothing. They all do something in the lines of resurfacing or treating blemishes. I`m super happy with this one, as it really just soothes and calms the skin. I think this is one I`ll always have in my skincare regime, as I feel it`s really good for my skin. I`m beginning to really love this brand! I continue to be pleasantly surprised by it =)

Then there`s the Korres Yoghurt moisturizing mask for normal to combination skin. I had actually only heard about this mask once, but when I saw it at the airport on my way home I thought I`d get it, as it wasn`t that expensive. (It`s only 16 ml/ 0,54 fl.oz though…) I tried it the same night, after a good and much needed scrub. It`s only supposed to be left on for 15 minutes, but I actually just kept it on. (After 15 minutes there wash`t really anything to rinse away anyway.) Maybe I put on too thin of a layer, I don`t know. My skin loved this mask! It felt so good, and very natural. A little goes a long way as well, and it`s quite liquidi, so I thin this little tube will last a while. I look forward to trying more of their products in the future!

The Biotherm lip balm is actually the one thing I didn`t like out of the things I bought. I tastes so bad! It kinda tastes like body lotion or something. I don`t care if it does great things, you just can`t make a lip balm taste bad. End of story. Blah.

The lipstick in the picture is Lancome Rouge in Love, shade 146B. It`s a bright coral, great for summer. This is actually my first high-end lipstick, and I`m really happy with it. I don`t have all that many lipsticks, and the ones I have are either really “wearable” pinks or bright reds. I really wanted something a bit different for summer, and one that didn`t have any glitters or shimmer at all. This one was perfect! (Although, it of course is not the most flattering of colors when it comes to your teeth. The do look a bit yellow…) Still, very happy with this one!

I always buy a new perfume when I travel, and this time it was the Jimmy Choo eau de toilette. I actually kind of regret not getting the eau de parfum, but oh well… I love it. It`s nice. (Said in a Borat manner.)

Yesterday I mentioned some shoes that I got. Here they are! I got them at Zara, and I love them! I haven`t worn them yet, that`s why I even let them up on my bathroom sink area. Aren`t they just glorious?!

So, I think that`s kinda it for this time. Hope you liked looking at my new stuff =) I`d really like it if you left a comment, saying if you liked these two posts or not. Still kinda new to this blogging, and it takes me forever to write a post, so it would be nice to hear what you think =)

London haul part two.

So, the London haul continues. I don`t really have that much to show you guys, but here it is =)

Revlon Colorstay Foundation

I had heard so many great things about Revlon Colorstay Foundation on You Tube, so when I saw it in London I thought I`d give it a go. I don`t normally wear foundation these days, and most certainly not in the summer, but hey. I got mine in the shade 180 Sand Beige, and it`s the one for combination/ oily skin. The shade is a bit light for me at the moment, as the sun made a guest appearance last weekend, but I`ll save this foundation for darker times I guess… I`m super happy with the coverage, but that may just be me not being used to something that covers more than a BB cream and tinted moisturizers. But I do like it! I have only tried it on once, but I`m a fan. Sadly I don`t think we have Revlon in Norway, otherwise I would try to find it in a darker shade as well.

Next is the Neutrogena visibly clear 2 in 1 face wash and mask. I love this product, both as a wash and a mask. It has tiny tiny exfoliating beads in it, but not enough to call it a scrub if you get me. I haven`t seen this in Norway, but we have other Neutrogena products, so maybe I`ve just missed it. Will keep eyes open. (I did however buy two, so I guess I`m good for a while…)

I got two perfumes at Gatwick on my way home. One is the Stella McCartney Summer Rose, which we don`t have here as far as I know… (That seems to be the theme of this haul.) It`s lovely, fresh, floral and light, and I love it! It`s not a scent that lasts very long, but I can live with that. It`s yummy! The other perfume is my third bottle of the same one. Nina by Nina Ricci. This is also a floral, young perfume, but I find this lasts a bit longer, and is a bit stronger smelling. I think this will be one I`ll keep buying for many years. Loves it.

This is the Gosh long-lasting brow pen in the color Wheat. I saw this in Essiebutton`s browvideo on YouTube, and wanted to try it for myself. I think it`s great, and cool toned enough for me. I`ve never used anything like this for my brows, I´ve used brow pens and brown eyeshadows really… But now I`m converted. I think this is a great product, that is if you find the right shade. I know I´ve seen Gosh in Norway, so there`s actually a chance I`ll find this again when it runs out!

The last product in this haul, part two, is this serum from Soap and Glory. It`s the 6 in 1 superboost moisture lotion. It promises to give a dewy, smooth, amazing face. I used it morning and night when we were in London, and I really liked it! If it had SPF it would be perfect. It smells great, is light, moisturizing and simply very appealing to me. I have never really used a serum before, at least not one for daytime. I have a feeling it`s not the best serum for my skintype, but I still like it. (There`s something about the promise of a dewy face that makes me a tad wary.)

So, that`s it for now. I have bought a few more things since we got back, so there just might be another haul post coming up soon(ish). Hope you like it. I haven`t really included anything other than makeup and skincare, but maybe I`ll do that the next time.

So long =)

London haul/ current favorites, part one.

So, I was in London with my boyfriend a few weeks ago. I had never been there before, and was sooo exited! I obviously picked up a few makeup and skincare products, and wanted to show you guys what i bought! (This is not all i bought, but I don`t think I can fit everything into this post without it being too much.) So, here we go! Image

The first things are two BB creams and a concealer. The Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream is in the shade medium, and the oil free Garnier Miracle skin perfector in the shade fair. We don`t have these BB creams in Norway, so i was exited to see them in London. I don`t know what i was thinking when I chose these colors, however. One is too fair and one is too dark, so I mix them together for an OK result =) Can`t say witch one I like the most, because I only use them together, so… But I`m guessing they will be available here soon, so I might pick up a different shade then.

The concealer is the Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer that is sooo raved about on the beauty channels on YouTube. I just had to get one! Mine is in the shade 3, medium. I think it is very creamy, has good coverage, and it doesn`t crease on me. I like it, and will probably buy another one the next time I come across one. (Don`t think we have it in Norway..)

I was super exited to see the Real Tecniques stippling brush in Boots, as I had heard so many great things about it. It was all true. I love it with my powder blushes, and use it every day. I regret not picking up more, and will do so the next time I see one. Let me know if you know any good websites that sell it! The other brush is not from London, but from the E.L.F website. It is the Studio line powder brush. It is exelent with liquid foundation, and with bronzers! I haven`t tried it with anything else, but I do love it for the products I use it with. It is supersoft, and the price is unbeatable!

For a few moths I have been eyeing the Biotherm Aquasource Nuit, and I finally picked this up at the airport on my way home from London. I LOVE it! It is so hydrating without making my skin oily. (I have pretty oily, dehydrated skin.) I use this every night, and I definitely can see a difference. My skin looks and feels more plumped, and healthier. I also love the smell, and look forward to applying it every night.

We have all heard so many wonderful things about the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, and when I saw it I could not resist the temptation. I have not used it that many times yet, but so far I can honestly say I don`t get what the hype is all about… It`s not that I don`t like it, I just don`t see any real difference in my skin. The smell is…different. Not good, not bad, just…toothpasty. I like the feel when I spray it on. I like the glass bottle. I like the idea. Other than that, I don`t know. Maybe I haven`t used it enough. I will up the use of my Beauty Elixir, and get back to you. I got it from feelunique.com. (Edit; I`ve now used it for a few months, and find it breaks me out if I use it too much. Once a day is fine, but more than that really irritates and aggravates my skin.)

And then there is the St.Ives Apricot scrub. It`s a good scrub, not much else to say. It is really cheap, it feels good, me like! I haven`t seen this in Norway either, so I bought a couple of this. I now have a stash. (Two is a stash, right?)

I`ll post more stuff from my trip to London soon =)

Also, summer has come to Norway as well, and I just have to post a couple of pictures of this rare event…

I love/hate this thing…

I love/hate you...

Meet my epilator… I love/hate it. Mostly I love it, though. The thing with epilators is, as you may know, that it removes the hair with the root. That way it takes longer for it to grow back. This part I love.

And then there`s the pain part. It`s painful. Or at least I think it is. I know some people who does`t seem to think it hurts, but I don`t know how that can be. Cause let me tell you, it does. If you have like ten hairs on each leg, it will not hurt. If you are like me, it will… After you are done, and for the next 12 hours, it looks like you have caught some rare tropical decease that just might kill you. Your skin will look like it will never forgive you, but it always does in the end 😉

I`m quite happy with my Braun Silk-epil, and it is not one of the more expensive ones. You don`t need to spend a great deal of money on an epilator. Just make sure that the part that actually does the plucking of the hairs is wide enough, so you don`t have to spend an hour on each leg.

I have a few tips and tricks when it comes to the art of handling an epilator, so if you have questions, please ask! I will share my hairy secrets with anyone who wants to hear them, really.
